At a glance

Browsing randomly on the news I found this elusive interactive map.
I decided to link it here for those who, like me, are interested on the topic.

Climate Change: A Planet at Risk

The interesting thing can be found on the "renewable energy" tab: the world largest wave powered electricity generation plant is on the coast of Póvoa de Varzim in northern Portugal. It uses the same Pelamis system from Ocean Power Delivery Ltd, that was successfully tested at the European Marine Energy Centre in Orkney. It consists of three 750 kW units, for a total of 2.25 MW. Two units are already installed at the site. A third unit is currently being assembled at the Peniche shipyard.

THIS IS PROGRESS!! and we can do much more not only through saving energy but also by encouraging people to use solar and wind energy! The dependence on the "black gold" has gone too far. It is time to change!
